Trussville's own Gary Lloyd will join us to discuss his latest book The Model City and the history of the Cahaba Project.
After many hours in our own library Archives and out in the community, Mr. Lloyd's next book has arrived. The Model City: History, Heritage and the Hereafter of the Resettlement Administration’s Crown Jewel traces the evolution of the Cahaba Project from its bold beginnings in the late 1930s to its enduring presence in the lives of those who still call it home today. Through historical insights and personal stories, readers are invited to walk the shaded streets, sit with longtime residents on their service porches, and discover the soul of a place that helped shape the unique character of this nationally historic community.
Gary will have a presentation and then be available to sign books. The Model City and other books will be available for purchase. Light refreshments provided.
Confirm library hours before visiting.
