  • June 5-Sign up for the  Summer Reading Program to enjoy reading and fun activities.
  • June 9-First day to report hours and start earning prizes and auction bids. If you don’t understand how the auction works: 1. Read the directions in your calendar packet! 2. Talk to Ms. Laura.
  • June 10-Author Kerry Madden will be here to talk about writing and her latest books. This program is for adults and older teens.   6 p.m.
  • June 11-Pottery Monster Mania-Create a creature from clay.  It will be fired and dried before you return on June 27th to paint it.  With potter Norma Prinsloo’s help, you may be surprised at what you can create! 2 p.m.
  •  June 13-Paranormal romance author Ciara Knight will be here for a book discussion and signing. 2 p.m.
  • June 18-Alabama Archeology-Mike Roper will display some of his vast collection of artifacts from our area. Learn to identify objects you might find along the Cahaba River. 2 p.m.
  • June 25– Animals Beneath the Surface-  Are there holes in your backyard, big holes in the woods? Find out what is hiding out beneath the surface. 2:30 p.m.

  • July 2-Hobbits in the House -  Join your friends at  the  library for a Tolkien inspired movie (recently released), snacks and trivia. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  •  July 4-Happy Independence Day!  The library is closed, but the City of Trussville invites you to an Independence Day Celebration on the mall.
  • July 9-Great Crepes!  July is National Culinary Arts Month and Angela Schmidt of ChefU will be here.  We will be making crepe cakes.  Eat what you cook.       2 p.m.
  • July 16– Photography Basics & Shadow Portraits.  Learn to make better photos and practice with your digital camera.  Create shadow portraits.  2 p.m.
  • July 18-Writers’ Workshop with author June Mathews-Use your imagination and develop your creative writing skills.  Learn about working as a writer.  2 to 4 p.m.
  • July 20-Final day to report your reading hours.
  • July  24-GAMES! Participants who read 24 hours or more are invited for food  and fun. Play video and board games.  Auction winners will be announced and winners who are not present will be notified by telephone.  2 p.m.
