American Girls Club

Welcome to the 13th year of the Trussville Public Library American Girls Club. This program is for girls K5 thru 5th grade. The dates and times are listed below.

Each month, we will be studying a historical doll with emphasis on the corresponding book. We will have a history lesson, a coordinating snack and craft.

The sign up sheet will be out in the department to register. We ask you to register so we can plan food and craft materials. We will cut off registration the week before the program. We will have a waiting list for girls who call after the cut off date. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT, PLEASE CALL AND CANCEL SO WE MAY CALL ANOTHER GIRL ON THE WAITING LIST. Even if it is the afternoon of the day of the program, please call as we can still call another girl. Last year, we averaged 20 to 25 who did not call and did not show for the program each month.

We ask that an adult plan on staying with the participant so there is someone to help with
the craft or help with refreshments.

DUE TO SPACE CONSTRAINTS, SIBLINGS MAY NOT ATTEND.

Everyone had a fantastic time at our American Girls Club Tea on September 25th.

The Children’s Department would like to give a special thank you to our very own Bess Gordon. She has written letters to different organizations requesting donations for our American Girl Club. The response has been overwhelming. We have received some fantastic donations to use for our program from:

The American Red Cross
Blue Bell Ice Cream
Coney Island
The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting
The Kentucky Derby
The New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation
The World War II Museum.
